Who We Are:

The Science Research and Educational Institute of Texas was conceived in 2008 by two middle school teachers from San Antonio Texas to fulfill three primary objectives:

•    To support all forms of research in the sciences,
•    To help educate the public in science disciplines
•    To bring students together with professionals in common fields of interest.

Unlike many institutions that cater solely to Graduate students and professionals, SREIT is focusing efforts on students, of all ages and academic levels, by offering enrichment opportunities in many areas of science, publication opportunities adhering to the most strict ethical and review standards, numerous events to introduce students to information and professionals in common fields of interest, and grant opportunities to advance scientific research.

Mission Statement:

The Science Research and Educational Institute of Texas is dedicated to providing educational, scholarly and community service opportunities to students, educators, and researchers in all areas of science by encouraging learning, academic excellence, and the highest level of ethics and standards.

I first became interested in dinosaurs and paleontology at a young age, after visiting a museum which featured "a walk through history", beginning in Precambrian times and ending in the recent. At that moment I was hooked. Now, many years later, after working on a bachelor’s degree in geosciences at the State University of New York (SUNY) and a Masters degree in Museum Science at Texas Tech University (TTU), I have founded this institute to make education and research opportunities more available to the public, especially students, of all ages and of all academic levels.

I am an award-winning Science teacher who creates fascination and wonderment in everyday events. Whether burning metal for my students or showing details of plant germination, I am focused on Science, exploring what we know NOW and what we don’t know YET. In my classroom I help students figure out “How the World Works!”. For over 20 years I have taught both adults and children, and have co-founded this institute where Science and Students of all ages Rule!
